Refund policy
1. General Returns
Customers may request a return within 7 days of receiving their order provided that:
- The item is unused and unworn
- The item is in its original condition
- All tags labels packaging and accessories are included
- The item is returned in its original packaging where reasonably possible
- Proof of purchase is provided
Returns that do not meet these conditions may be declined.
2. Faulty Defective or Incorrect Products
In accordance with Section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act customers are entitled to return products that are:
- Defective
- Damaged
- Not fit for their intended purpose
- Incorrectly supplied
within 6 months of delivery.
Where a product is confirmed to be faulty Lumière Baby may at its discretion:
- Repair the item
- Replace the item
- Refund the customer
No refund or replacement will be provided where damage results from misuse negligence improper care unauthorised alterations or normal wear and tear.
3. Hygiene & Safety Products
For hygiene and safety reasons the following products may not be returned unless faulty defective or incorrectly supplied:
- Pacifiers
- Teething products
- Feeding accessories
- Personal care products
- Opened skincare products
- Any product where the original sealed packaging has been opened
This policy is in place to protect the health and safety of all customers and babies.
4. Sale Clearance & Promotional Items
Sale clearance promotional and discounted items may only be returned if the item is defective or incorrect as required by South African law.
Unless required by law these items are not eligible for refunds due to change of mind.
5. Change of Mind Returns
Lumière Baby may accept change of mind returns at our sole discretion provided that:
- The return request is submitted within 7 days of delivery
- The item is unused and in resellable condition
- The customer covers all return shipping costs
Original delivery fees are non refundable.
A handling or restocking fee may apply where permitted by law.
6. Return Process
To request a return customers must contact us via email at:

Please include:
- Full name
- Order number
- Reason for return
- Clear photographs if applicable
Unauthorised returns may not be accepted.
Once approved customers will receive return instructions.
7. Refunds
Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 7 to 14 business days after the returned item has been received and inspected.
Refund processing times may vary depending on your payment provider or bank.
Lumière Baby reserves the right to refuse refunds where products show signs of use damage misuse or missing packaging.
8. Delivery Costs
- Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty defective or incorrect
- Lumière Baby is not responsible for lost damaged or delayed return parcels
- We recommend using a tracked courier service for all returns
9. Product Images & Colours
We make every effort to display products accurately. However actual colours textures and finishes may vary slightly due to screen settings lighting and manufacturing variations.
Such minor variations do not constitute defects.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law Lumière Baby shall not be liable for:
- Indirect or consequential damages
- Loss of profits
- Delays caused by couriers suppliers or events beyond our control
- Misuse of products contrary to instructions or intended use
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children when using any products purchased from Lumière Baby.
11. Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights afforded to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act or any other applicable South African laws.
